The ADE comments on Scotland’s new £300 million Heat Network Fund
Kieran Sinclair, Heat Policy Manager at the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) said: I am delighted to see the launch of the new Heat Network Fund to support the development and delivery of zero-emission heat networks across Scotland. Heat networks are a no-regrets, well-proven route to decarbonising the UK’s towns and cities, and this newly-announced £300 million will help to modernise households and commercial properties across the country to allow them access to affordable and reliable clean heat. We hope that both this ambitious scheme and the £270 million Green Heat Network Fund for England and Wales will kickstart the UK’s targets for heat network growth this decade. The ADE has enjoyed working with the Scottish Government as it brings together its ambitious plans on heat networks, and we are pleased to see real progress being made. We are excited to see what happens next and look forward to being involved in further work to help Scotland’s urban areas reach net zero.
