Brent Cross TownVattenfall Heat UKBrent Cross Town’s district heating system will serve over 6,000 residential dwellings and more than 400,000 m2 of commercial spaces. Vattenfall and Related Argent have contractually committed to a maximum carbon content of the heat supplied and to regularly redesign the network to make it Net Zero carbon by 2030. Queens Quay WSHPVital EnergiThe Queens Quay WSHP project is a UK first which will serve 1,200 homes, and public buildings, providing low carbon heat from the River Clyde. The custom-built energy centre houses two 2.65MW WSHPs and a thermal store. The project will eventually deliver 5,705 tonnes of CO2 reduction and is a great example of the decarbonisation, digitalisation and electrification of heat. THERMOSCentre for Sustainable Energy (CSE)THERMOS (Thermal Energy Resource Modelling and Optimisation System) is a free, state of the art, tool that helps planners and councils design low carbon, cost effective heating and cooling networks. This unique, open-source modelling tool, designed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE), is revolutionising how opportunities for district heating networks are identified and evaluated. Fenland GreenhouseClarke EnergyOne of the worlds most advanced greenhouses, funded by Greencoat Renewables and designed / constructed by AGR and Clarke Energy. The £86m project employs 7.2MW LED lighting, 33MWth open-loop heat-pumps, and a 9MW quad-generation plant with 100% CO2 recovery. The state-of-the-art greenhouse will grow 10% of the UK’s cucumbers, reducing imports and so reducing the food sector’s carbon emissions. Project Dino - Domestic Infrastructure and Network OptimisationEvergreen Smart PowerTo aid the UK in reaching net zero by 2050, the UK’s transport and heating will have to become more electrified. But with the increased electrical demand can our local LV networks handle the strain? Project DINO sets out to solve this by creating an AI platform that bridges the local LV assets and domestic loads, to create balance. Intelligent OctopusOctopus Energy + Kraken FlexIntelligent Octopus empowers EV owners to drive decarbonisation by providing low cost, highly responsive and rapidly deployable grid flexibility. We have worked tirelessly to create a customer proposition which is comprehensible yet informing, fully integrated yet seamless all whilst participating in advanced market applications. Ultimately, transforming EVs from a strain on the grid to one of its most powerful resources. Bedford College low carbon upgradesSalix FinanceBedford College harness the power of the Ouse River as a result of Phase 1 of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme to reduce heating and energy costs with £2.8 million grant. Swansea Bay University Health Board RE:FIT ProjectsVital EnergiSwansea Bay University Health Board (SHUHB)  multi-phase RE:FIT project which has pioneered an innovative blend of renewable energy generation and energy conservation measures including the creation of the UK’s first solar farm dedicated to supplying an NHS hospital. The primary focus of the project was to deliver substantial and rapid decarbonisation to help the health board meet their net zero commitments.  Southwark Heat PumpsVital EnergiVital Energi is working in partnership with Southwark Council to decarbonise their existing gas fired heat networks, across three local estates benefitting over 2,000 properties with a lower carbon heat supply. Saving 3,362 tonnes of carbon a year, this is the first time water source heat pumps have been retrofitted within an existing high temperature heat network in London. Leeds PIPES Energy from Waste District Heating ProjectVital Energi / Leeds City Council / Ener-VateThe Leeds PIPES heat network is a landmark project which has demonstrated how towns and cities can generate rapid carbon reduction.  The scheme has already seen 26.5km of district heating installed, connecting 1,983 homes and 7 civic buildings with more connections imminent.
