Decentralised Energy Awards 2022 Shortlist - Heat and Efficiency: Digital Innovation
Heat Manager from Chirpy HeatChirpy HeatHeat Manager from Chirpy Heat tackles one of the key challenges of delivering low cost, low carbon and reliable heat networks. Heat networks are traditionally data-rich – but data without action is the data gap. Designed in partnership with housing providers, Heat Manager takes an innovative approach to address this gap and deliver better heat networks for both clients and customers. THERMOSCentre for Sustainable Energy (CSE)THERMOS (Thermal Energy Resource Modelling and Optimisation System) is a free, state of the art, tool that helps planners and councils design low carbon, cost effective heating and cooling networks. This unique, open-source modelling tool, designed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE), is revolutionising how opportunities for district heating networks are identified and evaluated. Guru VerifyGuru Systems / FairheatGuru Verify is a mobile and web app which aims to reduce the time required to carry out Acceptance Testing on each dwelling, improve outcomes and address a skills gap in the market. Guru Verify combines FairHeat’s knowledge of commissioning and the technical skill of Guru’s product and engineering teams to build on the approach outlined in CP1 2020. Greenford Quay Heat NetworkSwitch2 EnergyGreenford Quay heat network is achieving exceptional efficiency, cost and carbon savings thanks to a robust adoption and optimisation programme – using next generation digital technologies. Switch2 Energy, in partnership with Greystar and Hermetica Black, has reduced the heat losses across the network by 50%, – overcoming the traditional challenge of high energy losses and supply/demand misalignment on phased residential heat networks. MabdeckSycousMabdeck is the first cloud-based software for heat network metering and billing in the world; first brought to the market in 2017, it is still unrivalled in this function. We have supported over 500 customers around the world, processed over 940million meter readings, and generated estimated consumer savings of over £10million through reduced administration costs and supporting personal energy reduction. Welcome to Green StreetThe Kensa Group5th Generation Heat Networks have enormous potential decarbonising heat. To engage the public and policy makers in demonstrating the concept and explaining their high potential, this project details the development of an Augmented Reality experience and associated set of digital assets, based on 800 dwellings surrounding Green Street in Glasgow, and a series of stakeholder discussions developing the optimal solution. Oakshott CourtVital Energi / DanfossVital Energi has partnered with Danfoss to introduce revolutionary AI software technology at Camden Council’s Oakshott Court, which in just 7 months has reduced the site’s energy consumption by a third, helping the borough transition to a low carbon future. By simple modernisation of the heat network through the deployment of digital technology, we have provided improvements to the heating system benefitting 114 homes. The Decentralised Energy AwardsThe Association for Decentralised Energy's annual awards are the leading and most prestigious awards for those involved in decentralised energy, recognising and celebrating the people and projects which have developed innovative decentralised energy solutions designed around the needs of the user. The awards showcase innovation, best practice and achievements across heat, efficiency, power and flexibility. The winners will be announced at the ADE’s annual gala dinner, hosted at the stunning Hurlingham Club in central London on Wednesday 15th June. We’re so pleased we’ll be able to meet in person again to celebrate the sector’s success! Click here to get your tickets
