ADE: Government must now deliver energy efficiency plans for all homes

The Association for Decentralised Energy’s (ADE) Energy Efficiency Policy Manager Chris Friedler said:Today’s announcement of £1.5 billion for energy efficiency through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund and the Home Upgrade Grant is welcome news, although this is previously committed funding as part of both the government’s manifesto commitments and the Heat and Building Strategy.The logical next steps are to work closely with industry supply chains to ensure the funding in delivered in the most effective way. Longer-term, the government must go beyond these schemes to deliver a plan for energy efficiency in all tenures, including the ‘able to pay’ owner occupier sector.
