ADE Decentralised Awards Showcase | Recognising Resilience winner and full shortlist announced
The Showcase was hosted by the ADE's Head of Policy, Caroline Bragg, and was virtually attended by over 100 of our members and award nominees. Caroline introduced a video shortlist for each of the10 award categories, which highlighted the unique stories and qualities of each nomination. "Roving reporters" Amy Ritchie and Liz Warren of the ADE and SE2 respectively helped to keep the energy high as they reported back on comments and shout outs from the audience throughout the event. The highlight of the evening came close to the end of the showcase, with the announcement of the winner of the "Recognising Resilience Award". This unique award was introduced to recognise organisations that have gone above and beyond to care for their customers, staff and community during the Covid-19 crisis. The pandemic Covid-19 has been a difficult time for everyone: we wanted to find and recognise moments of empathy, collaboration and hope - from small, meaningful gestures to wider, organisational-level interventions. With this in mind, we were truly delighted to annouce Nottingham City Council - Enviroenergy as the winner of the Recognising Resilience Award, due to their incredibly proactive approach to support both customers and staff through this difficult time. A special mention also went to Engie, for their amazing work to support and power the temporary NHS Nightingale Hospital in the London Excel Centre.Judge Tanisha Beebee of the CBI, said of her decision:All of the entries for the Recognising Resilience Award were incredibly heartening and showed how the decentralised energy sector has stepped up to support the community through this difficult period. Nottingham City Council demonstrated a very proactive approach to customer and employee care, as well as showcasing cross industry collaboration (with Citizens Advice for example), which I value very highly. The reason why Engie are my ‘official’ runner up is because their efforts at the Excel centre are unprecedented and would have been part of a wider benefit to society – saving lives. The full list of entries for the Recognising Resilience Award were: Engie Urban Energy LimeJump Nottingham City Council - Enviroenergy SSE Switch2 Energy Ylem EnergyTo find out more about all of the entries for the Recognising Resilience Award, the shortlist video is available here. The shortlists for the remaining Award categories are:Heat and Efficiency: Operational BasePower: Cranswick Country Foods Engie Urban Energy: Newcastle Helix District Energy Network E.ON: Black Horse Lane RegenerationHeat and Efficiency: Design Innovation Arup: Waste heat from the London Underground Comsof, Minibems, Star Renewable Energy: Heat: Vision 2030 Glasgow FES Support Services: Stirling Renewable Heat Project London Borough of Islington: Bunhill 2 SSE: Wandsworth Riverside Quarter Switch2: The Wheat Quarter, Welwyn Garden CityHeat and Efficiency: Digital Innovation Guru + Altecnic: Guru Electronic HIU Integration Hydronic System Optimisation BV: Hysopt HVAC Design and Optimisation Software Kurve Technologies Ltd, a joint venture between Insite Energy & SAV Systems Guru + FairHeat: Guru Verify Secure Meters (UK) Ltd: ewatch Heat ServicesPower and Flexibility: Operational Centrica Business Solutions: Palm Paper, King's Lynn npower Business Solutions: Westhampnett Solar Farm Sport in Desford: SiD Power Power and Flexibility: Innovation Centrica: Centrica’s Cornwall Local Energy Market (LEM) Flexitricity: Philip Dennis Foodservice Kaluza: Flexibility Platform LimeJump: Limejump Solar ODFM RWE Supply and Trading: Master+ Ylem Energy Ltd supported by Limejump Ltd: Harewood Whin Battery Energy Storage SystemIntegrated Energy Nordic Heat and Uniper: Heat Academy Pivot Power: Energy Superhub Oxford Siemens: Smart Energy Network Demonstrator Silver EMS and the GreenSCIES consortium: GreenSCIES Stemy Energy UK Ltd.: Flex Community Tata Chemicals Europe: Winnington CHP Carbon Capture and Utilisation PlantHuge congratulations to all of the projects and organisations on the shortlists.
