We work closely with decisionmakers at the forefront of energy policy to shape the future energy market in the UK.About the role:The ADE is recruiting for a Communications and Public Affairs Officer or Manager (dependent on experience). This is an exceptional opportunity to support the Association for Decentralised Energy's (ADE) work to create a low carbon energy system that empowers energy users to make the best choices for their needs.You will be building and deepening the ADE’s political relationships and ensuring our messaging is always visible, compelling and respected at the highest levels. On a day-to-day basis you would be organising political engagement, adapting strategies as the political environment shifts, creating impactful communications, planning and delivering sector events and keeping the company website up-to-date.About youYou must be:· Experienced in the political world and knowledgeable about how to effectively engage with stakeholders of all levels· Comfortable in a deadline-driven environment, able to exercise project management skills and work independently· A self-starter and outside-the-box thinker with a proactive attitude· Experienced drafting and editing high-quality written content, as well as creating content in other mediums· Happy working closely with colleagues across the organisation and building important interpersonal relationships within the sector· Creative and able to generate new ideas, think on your feet and cope under pressure· Experienced operating the backend of websites and online platformsIt would be desirable, but not essential, for you to be:· Experienced in planning, organising and running events, either in-person or online· Knowledgeable about energy policy· Connected with your own established professional network, ideally in energy, politics or the pressHow to apply:Send your CV, including your e-mail address and daytime telephone number, plus a cover letter explaining why the role outlined above is of interest to you and how your experience and skills fit the requirements, to Dina Kamourieh: dina.kamourieh@theade.co.ukPlease provide contact details of two professional referees and indicate whether you are happy for us to contact them in advance of interviewing you.The closing date for applications is 17:00 on Friday 21st July.Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews during the week of 31st July.You will be asked to complete a short exercise ahead of or after the interview.
