Securing growth across jobs and infrastructure, as well as a truly secure energy system, is only possible with more decisive action from the Government. That’s according to the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) in their response to today’s Spring Budget announcement from the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
The trade association, which represents over 160 organisations from across the energy sector, welcomes the focus on advancing infrastructure across the UK, but warns stronger signals from Government are still needed for industry to deliver.
Caroline Bragg, Chief Executive Officer at the ADE, said: “Today's Spring Budget only confirms what the whole of industry know: jobs, infrastructure and energy security must be at the forefront of decision-making.
Securing growth in these areas will be vastly dependent on important decisions facing the energy sector over the coming years, and what's needed to deliver on this growth is strong signals from Government. More decisive action and strengthened support for our sector will mean Government and industry can unite to truly deliver lower bills, champion jobs, and promote economic growth.”
