ACE Research takes forward an international review of domestic retrofit supply chains
ACE Research, Oxford university, Ballarat Consulting and Innoweaver Ltd has been commissioned by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to undertake an International Review of Domestic Retrofit Supply Chains. This project aims to learn lessons from other countries that might be replicable, leading to greater uptake of energy efficienct retrofit at reduced cost in the UK. The project team brings together deep knowledge and understanding of the energy efficiency building supply chain, bringing academic rigour and ‘in the field’ experience to help ensure a comprehensive and robust examination of the evidence. The project is broken into two phases: The first phase of the research will seek to answer a series of research questions posed by BEIS using a Rapid Evidence Assessment (REA). The second phase will undertake deeper and more detailed analysis to determine gaps from phase 1. Kicking off in January 2020, phase 2 will provide a more comprehensive consideration of documentation of how the retrofit supply chain operates in selected countries and interviews with key stakeholders who have knowledge and experience of the supply chain in these countries. (Please note that phase 2 is contingent on the findings for phase 1).The project team are asking stakeholders from the retrofit sectors to share evidence to be reviewed as part of this research. This could include both academic and grey literature from the UK and globally. We would also welcome suggestions for key stakeholders in the sector who we could interview in the new year.If you would like to speak to the team about this research, or have suggestions on literature that could be reviewed or stakeholders to be interviewed, please contact Kelly Greer, ACE Research Director on kelly.greer@theade.co.uk or call +4420 3031 8740.
