ACE-R | Extending the minimum energy efficiency standards across all tenures in the GLA
Then we want to hear from you regarding our work with the Greater London Authority on extending the minimum energy efficiency standards across all tenures.ACE Research, at the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) is undertaking a research project for the Greater London Authority (GLA). The project is to develop a concise and accessible report on how to extend and implement Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) across housing tenures. In London, the declaration of a climate emergency has been translated into an ambition to reach net zero by 2030. In addition to existing MEES standards in the large and ever increasing Private Rented Sector (PRS) in the capital, the Mayor has called for MEES policy to be expanded into social and owner-occupied tenures. As part of this project, ACE Research is looking at policy drivers, barriers to energy retrofit uptake and enforcement, and the environmental, economic and social impacts of such policies, as well as the potential delivery models and governance structures that could be used to extend MEES to other tenures. If you are a local authority, social housing provider or involved in the retrofit supply chain follow the links accordingly to take part in a short survey to capture views on extending the minimum energy efficiency standards across all tenures.
