An initial energy survey determined that refrigeration contributed significantly to their overall electricity costs. Many of those systems were operating on refrigerant R22, which has ozone depletion potential. R22 is currently being phased out, so Utilitywise was able to suggest a number of opportunities for improvement.

Following a series of upgrades, the firm was able to save 25% of their electricity consumption, around £75,000 a year, and the upgrade also helped improve production and controlled temperatures throughout the factory areas.
