This pilot project aimed to improve compliance with the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) in the private rented sector, focusing on three London boroughs. ACE-Research supported the pilot by facilitating landlord workshops, providing technical assistance, and evaluating enforcement strategies. The project achieved significant engagement with private landlords, encouraging energy efficiency upgrades and contributing to the reduction of fuel poverty. Findings from the pilot offer guidance for future enforcement of MEES, positioning it as a model for other regions to support sustainable housing standards.
