Commissioned by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, this project assessed pathways for achieving net-zero housing by 2038. ACE-Research developed baseline energy data and modelled retrofit scenarios across housing archetypes, analysing impacts on emissions, costs, and housing conditions. The study underlined the importance of electrification, insulation, and energy efficiency to meet net-zero targets. It provided a data-backed foundation for policy interventions, highlighting necessary investments in infrastructure to support low-carbon housing for Greater Manchester.
