Lau tracks the performance of all external projects against their budget, plan and scope and updates the board and the senior leadership team with the each project's progress.
As programme manager, Lau engages with the research and policy team to deliver internal evidence-base gap projects (EBGs) which are designed to address ADE member needs focused around our yearly strategic priorities.
Before joining ADE, Lau spent 3 years in the conservation and capacity building sector working in international development. As previous Head of Operations for Frontier, The Society for Environmental Exploration, Lau spent most of his time managing and supervising the running of research-driven environment programmes in remote locations of the Earth, monitoring some of the world’s most endangered and fragile habitats.
After spending time focusing his efforts supporting less economically developed countries, Lau decided to shift his energy from conservation of natural resources to conservation of energy by joining ADE; advocating for the use of clean energy sources, improving efficiency and reducing energy poverty, which affects the physical and mental well-being of thousands of UK citizens every year.
Lau has a BSc in Politics, Global Studies and Journalism from The University of Winchester and a MSc in Managing Contemporary Global Issues with Environment & Development, also from the University of Winchester.
