After spending over ten years as the main Board Director of FTSE 100 utility companies, Mr. Sigsworth retired in March 2005 following a career spanning 43 years in the energy sector. Previously, he held several appointments in Yorkshire Electricity Board before joining the North of Scotland Hydro-electric Board in 1987.

Mr. Sigsworth was appointed as the Commercial Director of Scottish Hydro Electric plc in January 1995 and subsequently held several positions on the Board of Scottish and Southern Energy plc becoming Energy Trading Director in 1998 and Energy Supply Director in April 2000.

He has been Non-Executive Chairman of Sea Energy PLC since January 26, 2012 and has been its Director since September 24, 2011. He served as the Lead Director and Generational Director from January 2002 to March 31, 2005 at Scottish & Southern Energy plc. During the latter part of his career, Mr. Sigsworth held responsibility for all of SSE’s environmental issues and managed one of the largest and most diverse generation fleets in the UK with over 10,000 MW of plant. He was also responsible for a £1 billion programme of investments in renewable generation technologies.

Mr. Sigsworth is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
