The ADE welcomes Ian Calvert as Director

Ian will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Association’s vision for the future of our energy system as we move towards net zero, and will oversee the Association’s strategic relationships with members, government, regulators and wider stakeholders. Ian has twenty years’ experience working with energy and, in particular distributed power generation plant. Between 2005-2007 he was the Senior Policy Analyst for the UK Combined Heat and Power Association and worked with Government on implementing positive changes for the UK cogen industry on emissions trading, tax and power market rules at both European and national levels.In 2007 he was appointed Head of Strategy at npower Cogen, and then in 2010 moved to work at npower Renewables, becoming a Director at RWE Innogy UK in 2012. Also a previous Chairman at the ADE, Ian joins us from his role as Head of Biomass UK at RWE Supply and Trading, where he worked on a large district energy project in Fife.The ADE is thrilled to welcome Ian to the team as we forward into a new decade!
