Summary: Salary: £35,765 - £43,800 Grade Senior Executive Officer Contract Type: Permanent Business Area: Other, Market Framework - Office for Product Safety and Standards Working Pattern: Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time Location: TeddingtonThe Heat Networks team is part of the wider Energy Supply team and are responsible for implementing the Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations. We also cover the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulations and Utilities (Gas and Electricity meters), with Alternative Fuel Labelling Regulations potentially coming soon, so there will be an opportunity to get involved in these workstreams. The role supports regulations designed to overcome challenges in energy supply and use by promoting awareness and compliance in this area.ResponsibilitiesYou will have responsibility for a wide-ranging portfolio of work including, but not limited to: Designing and delivering a programme of activity which improves understanding of the relevant legislation and supports businesses and other institutions in their efforts towards compliance. Assessing and actioning cases and enquiries to deliver appropriate responses and outcomes. Delivering projects which align with the issues and challenges impacting upon UK compliance levels, ensuring that individual projects deliver positive impacts within financial and technical parameters. Establishing and maintaining multi-disciplinary cross-office teams to focus on and resolve important problems and regulatory challenges. Leading on investigations where the necessary criteria is met, ensuring compliance with investigative and legal frameworks. Actively building and maintaining relationships across a variety of organisational and functional boundaries to ensure consistency in implementation of legislation for product safety. Developing extensive specialist knowledge, in order to provide the national enforcement perspective to colleagues and stakeholders and contribute to wider departmental initiatives. If applicable, leading on individual investigations in line with Police and Criminal Evidence Act, Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act and other framework legislation that supports the team's activities. Reviewing market information, technical data and evidence to ensure that cases are handled through to appropriate outcomes.SpecificationThis is an exciting opportunity for a flexible and ambitious individual with the energy to make positive change happen within and beyond OPSS. Given the nature of the roles, OPSS would be keen to hear from people with varying backgrounds, particularly those with experience or understanding of regulation in the areas of responsibility.
