The UK’s heat network market is predicted to grow from less than 2% of heating demand today to almost 20% by 2050, attract up to £30-50bn of investment and create up to 35,000 new direct jobs.The Heat Networks Industry Council is leading the industry in making this happen.The Heat Networks Industry Council is an industry-led organisation working with Government and major stakeholders to set out a vision supported by practical policy, regulatory and industry actions to realise the potential of green heat networks in the UK.In May 2020, the Council launched its vision for the future and its key recommendations for Government and industry.Over the next year in the run-up to COP26, the Council will work with Government and other key stakeholders to respond to the ongoing risks created by Covid and to agree a package of detailed actions that will deliver these key recommendations regarding – Accelerating carbon and emissions reduction; Delivering consistent and excellent customer experience; Supporting the creation of smart, liveable cities; Creating investment and jobs; Driving cost reductionThis is an outstanding opportunity to be part of strategic discussions on heat decarbonisation in the UK and make a real difference towards our net zero commitment.The responsibilities of the Programme Manager and person specification can be found in the document below.
