The expansion project generated a requirement for additional energy generation. SAV systems supplied and installed one 15kWe/30kWth LoadTracker CHP units which are able to supply 73% of site heating and hot water demand and 61% of electrical demand.

The system is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 22 tonnes a year, and make a saving of £3,094 a year relative to a conventional mains supply/boiler system, the equivalent of a 22% saving on the school's energy bills.
